i have a violin & an book of songs for the piano like greensleeves & fur elise. can i play these songs on my violin or do they have to be written for a violin?

It is an old, cheap looking violin which doesn’t sound at all like a violin. Instead when taking the bow slowly & smoothly accross the strings it sounds like harmonics & almost like an elephant “trumpet”. Any ideas anyone? Help please!!

I saw a guy play a guitar using a bow (<I think that is the right word for the stick used to play a violin) at a concert, but he only played like two different notes, so i am curious can that same range of sounds be acheived on a guitar using a bow as on a violin?

i used to play a bit in school, many eons ago. now, i play guitar. much more satisfying

I know I shouldn’t buy a violin based on how it looks but for it’s sound.
But I just have to know where I can buy one like this it’s kinda important.I only manger to find one & it was already sold.

I just started playing the violin & I don’t really know what’s what.
So I bought a violin online & the pegs aren’t fully pushed in to the other side, & it slips. Is it supposed to be fully pushed in? And does it slip because it’s not fully in? I get really frustrated when it’s out of tune. If possible, please also add some pictures of how the peg box is supposed to look like.

I was wondering if guys have a certain preference to musicians…
I play violin, piano, & guitar, but I’ve been told that guys think violinists & pianists are too uptight…
I, however, am definitely nottt. haha
Do guys like artists? (painters, sculptors, etc…)

Andrew all the way!!!! I fell in love with this song when he was playing it, so much emotion! Honestly brought a tear to my eye. Everything about it worked, his voice, the violins, sitting on a chair, the outfit. Andrew was great & hes in it to win it!!!
I never really cared for this song before.

In Poland there is this guy that i really like, but I only see him at Christmas & Summer Holidays. When I’m there he keeps trying to impress me, he seems desperate to make me laugh & keeps looking over at me. I think he likes me, but I don’t know…… People have told me to play hard to get, but he is just effortlessly funny, & i always burst out laughing. I want to tell him how I feel, but I’m afraid of rejection & it would be hard for both of us to stay friends after something like that. My friend is quite close is him, so i asked her to ‘randomly’ ask what he thinks of me & he told her that he seems to like me more every day.I was excited to hear that but I don’t know if he likes me as a crush of as friends. He is also MEGA talented, he plays drums, piano, violin & soccer & he is amazing at all that. I feel kind of useless compared to him. Once I tried to not make him see that I was laughing when he was making fun of something, & I tried to cover up my smirk with drinking tea- bad idea. I ended up bursting out laughing & pouring it all over myself! I also wear eyeshadow & lip gloss, & he once caught me fixing my lip gloss & it seemed to freak him out. Boys, what should I do?! Does he like me?

You usely heard it alot on tv. I think sometimes it may had even been used with the old warner brother cartoons..It may be called “sunrise” but I’m not sure.but it sounds like its a violin.

Or is it the strings that came with the instrument? I have not yet changed them. I tuned them well & all. I got this Cello a few days ago & I have not been able to play any notes other than open strings. Well, at least not that clearly & without pain! I’m a beginner & have not found any teachers yet. Besides, I can’t afford one right now (not after purchasing this Cello; gonna have to save some cash again for that).
The thing is, it doesn’t hurt in the tip of my fingers (I also play Violin & Guitar, so my fingers have callouses), it hurts in that part of my lower arm underneath the wrist; it’s like muscle strain from the force I have to make to press down. I’m getting a little discouraged because of this. My mom suggest that I go change the Cello & all, but I know that this problem can be solved without going to that extreme! Even by me! And I don’t want to change this Cello; at least not yet in a long time. I have come to feel that it can be my voice (he’s so beautiful too, & resonant. And smells good too ) Well, are Celli supposed to be this way? Or is the cheap strings that came with it that are too heavy? How do I know the problem is not the bridge or the nut?

I really really would appreciate some help
so here are some signs i’ve thought of showing that he likes me (some observations are from my friend)
1. He’s always hitting me with his violin bow in the one class i have with him
2. He’s always teasing & calling me names
3. A friend says that he always follows me around @ lunch
4. A friend says that when my strings teacher asks just the 1 section we’re in to play alone, she says he slacks off to look at me
5.One time my friends & i were eating lunch & he randomly came up & asked if he could have my taco (obviously looking for a way to talk)
6. A friend of his came up to us (with my crush behind) & said “HE LIKES YOU AVA!”
& she said that he was really embarrased
how should i show that i am interested? & are these signs of him liking me?

What do U Think? Do orchestras only play classical music ?

I remember when I was young, my parents made me take piano lessons. They said it was one thing to be educated but it is another thing to be cultured.

I want to play songs that are a little more up to date than Mozart & Bach

its sorta fast paced & cool… not slow like in classical..

It looks like (for violin) :
1. a slow & fast movement from a19th/20th century concerto
2.one movement from unaccompanied Bach sonata or partita.
3. one Paganini caprice
You have to submit these on a tape or CD in order to get an invitation to a live audition.
