Violin Answers

I mean, i really want to learn how to play the piano, but are there any other great instruments like the piano?
and if not, i also love drums, but someitmes they might get too loud. I already know how to play cello & violin. Do you guys have any good interests?

I’m 15. I haven’t even touched a piano in 5 years & I only got a few months of actual learning with is practically nothing now. Also, I didn’t even like pianos first. I tried the guitar 4 years ago, too. But, with only a few months of playing, I gave up. I feel like I selfishly wasted my life on video games & tv. Now, I want to try it again. I already have an upright piano in storage. Also, I want to get violin. I don’t really like holding the guitar, & that’s sort of why I don’t play it. I realize that learning to play even 1 instrument takes time. Do you think that this is possible?

Do you still have a pulse, & can convert oxygen to carbon dioxide? Then you are the perfect age. I was at a luncheon yesterday & a friend who is about 65 told me that she has decided to take cello lessons – & she had called the cellist in my chamber music group to teach her! The guy who was cleaning my oil burner this week, knowing we are musicians (there is stuff all over the house . . ) asked if I knew anyone body who could start him in tenor banjo lessons! We get this all the time! Heck, at my age, I have decided that I need to work out with a personal trainer – started 3 weeks ago. Totally new experience for me – I have been a *bowl of Jello* for years. So – starting ANYTHING is good for you. Keeping it going is BETTER.
Call a GOOD teacher – one who has a degree in music, & preferably is a certified teacher – call our local school district. THOSE teachers will do more for you & have more patience than a college teacher, who is used to working with more advanced players. GOOD LUCK!!

I don’t really care about how hard it is to learn but go for it anyways.
I’m thinking of learning the piano first cause i want to replay some songs that like such as moonlight sonata movement 1.
I’m probably not going to learn these until i finish some stuff that i got to do such as school, working out for a sport team, Study hard, homework, etc etc. so in about 3 years of high school.

I’ve been playing violin for a long time now, but havent completely learned vibrato, & I want to. Someone has sorta tried to teach me, but that was a while ago. Thanks!!:D

i play the violin but i want to learn the guitar as i write songs & want to put tunes & stuff to the songs using the guitar
at school i asked the head of music if i could stop my violin lessons & start guitar & he said i could stop violin but i cant start guitar till September so i have decided that i will try to self teach myself how to play

I am 16 years old in grade 11. I really want to learn how to play an instrument, (i have played piano, violin & baritone in the past) especially the guitar. I am a fairly quick learner. Would it be worth learning, or will it be a long time before I am able to play anything worth playing? Thanks

being an accomplished classically trained violinist it is almost impossible to learn the violin without personal lessons . Please find a music teacher that is willing to teach you violin . congrats on choosing one of the most beautifull instruments in my opinion to learn to play & I wish you much luck . god bless you .

I want to learn how to play the electric violin, but I’m not sure what the best course of action is.
Should I learn to play a regular violin first & then advance to the electric version of the instrument, or should I start out on the electric violin in the first place?

I played piano for some years as a child, but never enjoyed it.
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the violin, & now am realizing that now is as good a time as any.
However, Ive been told by a violinist that it is important to at least become proficent on the piano first. Is this true?

I always had an affinity for classical music, especially the melody played on the violin. I played violin for a short while (less than a year) when I was really young. Now I am 22.
Do you think I have to hire a tutor to progress further? Or are there some really helpful online resources/sites??

I’m 24 & would like to learn to play violin. I’m not musical at all, can’t sing & have no rythm whatsoever , is it even worth it for me to try to learn play the violin?

This is for any violin player:
I play competitive soccer, which takes up about 2 days of my week, Tuesday & Thursday. I plan to dedicate Mondays & Wednesdays to practicing the violin. I was just wondering if I was too busy to learn the violin? Is it very time consuming? I am in 6th grade, & I will most likely have a lot of homework once or twice on one of these days…I really would like to play the violin. It seems VERY interesting! Also, I would start the violin probably over the summer. Also, am I too old to learn the violin? (im in 6th grade as I said earlier). Please help! Thanks! Also, what is the average price of a violin. Not anything fancy or special. And is ebay a good place to look for a violin? Where do you really look for reasonably priced ones?

so i’ve been playing violin for 6 years now, but i was thinking about switching to viola, because i think i’ll have a better chance of getting into a music college, like Juilliard, if i switch. I also like the sound of the viola better than the violin. would i be able to learn the viola pretty fast if i already know how to play violin (by fast i mean a couple years)?
