One of the videos in the new season. Our two year old now keeps asking for a violin. Ive looked already the shows spot on the noggin website.

I need to decide whether I want to learn how to play classical violin or a country violin style music & need to decide immediately but don’t know where I could listen to it at. Does anyone know where I could listen to it at? if so where?

at school i asked the head of music if i could stop my violin lessons & start guitar & he said i could stop violin but i cant start guitar till September so i have decided that i will try to self teach myself how to play

I see everywhere that you should buy your violin based on Intermediate, Beginner, Advanced, ect. How do I know how good I am?
I’ve been playing for three years (sight reading for eight)
My high school orchestra recently played Palladio (I was 1st violin) & I found it to be between normal & easy difficulty. As of now I am having some trouble doing fast string changes but it isn’t too difficult. I can tune my violin easily. Changing positions isn’t hard, though looking at the music & finding out WHERE I should change for optimum performance is, usually I have someone else in the orchestra find out where & I just copy them. I find trills to be a little bit difficult, & sometimes I have trouble moving my fingers fast enough on really fast pieces. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PQ8bWOB5…
I was playing 1st violin there. Ive improved some, since this was about a year ago. My vibrato is now more noticeable, & I can switch strings faster, as well as put my fingers on the right spot faster.
Would I be beginner or intermediate?

Which would you rather play in front of an audience?

I always had an affinity for classical music, especially the melody played on the violin. I played violin for a short while (less than a year) when I was really young. Now I am 22.
Do you think I have to hire a tutor to progress further? Or are there some really helpful online resources/sites??

Prefer the old like Bagatelli etc. Some of the modern ones are nice like Poggi, but really prefer the older more woody sweet sounding instruments. They are easier to play – rich g string sound & sweet upper register.

I know Emilie Autumn already, I really like her, then Rose Noire…
So it can be a wide array of different Victorian/Violin bands, I’m not that picky unless the music sucks.

I was in the train & this guy’s phone rings, & it’s a violin piece which I’ve heard before somewhere (maybe in a movie or just from some popular reference).
It has a fast tempo & is a popular classical music song. It has a catchy tune, fast temp & the guy/gal that plays probably goes all over the violin in the process of playing it. As far as I can tell, there is no other instruments that accompany this violin player.
I don’t know what other information I can give you. Hope someone can help.

I really really would appreciate some help
so here are some signs i’ve thought of showing that he likes me (some observations are from my friend)
1. He’s always hitting me with his violin bow in the one class i have with him
2. He’s always teasing & calling me names
3. A friend says that he always follows me around @ lunch
4. A friend says that when my strings teacher asks just the 1 section we’re in to play alone, she says he slacks off to look at me
5.One time my friends & i were eating lunch & he randomly came up & asked if he could have my taco (obviously looking for a way to talk)
6. A friend of his came up to us (with my crush behind) & said “HE LIKES YOU AVA!”
& she said that he was really embarrased
how should i show that i am interested? & are these signs of him liking me?

I love to play violin & I am very interested in buying a book about the History of violins. I don’t want to spend alot of money
