Where On The Bridge Of A Violin Should Each String Sit?
I’m new. I just got a new violin, the neck of the old one was separating. Now this one it looks like the strings are sitting on the wrong place. They are all evenly spaced apart & on my old violin it looked like the space between the strings was wider as the notes get lower, like the e & a string are closer than the g & d string, On this one it looks like there are grooves where the strings are suppposed to go, but they aren’t in them.. Can someone guide me to the right information.

If the bridge has grooves, the strings need to be in them. Also, the strings should always be evenly spaced apart. If the grooves on the new one aren’t spaced evenly, get a new bridge.
